Pika Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Pika does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
Specifically:
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
- No user accounts, identifiers, or device fingerprints
- File access is limited to files you explicitly provide via the Open Panel or drag-and-drop
- Passwords used to open encrypted archives are held in memory only for the duration of the session and are never written to disk, Keychain, or any persistent storage
- No third-party data sharing. There is nothing to share
Pika is a local tool. Your files stay on your machine.
In-App Purchases
Pika offers an in-app purchase to unlock full functionality after a free trial period. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit:
- Pika communicates with Apple's servers for transaction verification, product information, and purchase processing
- No payment data is transmitted to Cornbread Labs. Apple handles all payment information
- Transaction history and entitlement checks are managed by StoreKit on your device
- The only data stored locally is the trial start date (in Keychain, UserDefaults, and a cache file) to manage the free trial period. This date never leaves your device.
Third-Party Components
Pika includes the following statically linked open-source libraries:
- libarchive (BSD License) - archive format support
- PLzmaSDK (MIT License / LZMA SDK public domain) - 7z format support
- tree-sitter (MIT License) - source code syntax highlighting
None of these components collect or transmit data.
